Persuasive speaking

Image
Yordanis Sierra        In my point of view persuasive speaking is one of the most important and powerful skills that a person can develop , this kind of public speaking is very deep for humans interactions, psychology and connection,.If this speaking is done ethically it becomes the perfect tool for influencing and creating understanding, breaking the differences of other persons and motivating meaningful action . The interesting thing about this speaking is that is not just about giving an information but about sharing a point of view, giving a reasonable view of a topic and making the topic resonate with people values , emotions and experiences that they have lived .This means that a speaker have to do a loot more than just talking to persons but interreacting with they mind sets a, sharing emotions. A speaker have to  observe, empathize , and adapt, and thought this process the speaker can connect with the audience and not just talk or inform but in...

Presentation Reflection Blog by Sebastian Viter

Reflection of my group and other groups presentations The class presentations were divided into four groups, with each group responsible for presenting one major part of the textbook. This structure helped organize the presentations and made it easier to understand how public speaking skills develop step by step. Each group focused on a different stage of the public speaking process, from getting started, to developing and researching a speech, to delivering it effectively, and finally to special occasion and group presentations. Overall, the presentations helped connect the course topic and showed how all the concepts build on one another. My groups presentation covered Chapters 13-17 , with each group member responsible for presenting a different chapter. This approach helped keep the presentation organized and prevented information overload. It also showed how the different types of speeches discussed in the course connect to one another. Working with my group was honestly a blessin...

Public Speaking Presentation Reflection

Public Speaking Presentation Reflection  When I walked into this class, I thought public speaking was essentially memorizing things and surviving for an instant in front of an audience. I pictured stiff note cards, racing hearts, and quietly wishing that no matter how much preparation there turned out to be after the night before my last few hours on stage, I still hadn’t forgotten which point actually struck me as mine. Success to me was always getting through a speech without stumbling over my words or freezing halfway through a sentence. I thought of nerves as something you just suffered and that confidence was for people who are naturally boisterous. Public speaking was scary. I felt like a performance where the mistakes would be obvious and unforgiving. It was less a way to communicate than to get a feel for that pressure. Over the course of weeks, as each group delivered their chapters, that comprehension changed altogether. What I saw wasn’t a set of presentations—it ...

My Experience and Opinion on Our First Public Speaking Presentation

My Experience and Opinion on Our First Public Speaking Presentation. Yubisleidy Cordova February 5, 2026. Speaking in front of others has never comes easily to me and usually makes me feel anxious. For me, speaking in public has always been difficult. I get nervous easily, my heart races, and sometimes my mind goes blank when I know everyone is looking at me. Because of that, this class was a personal challenge from the very beginning. Just thinking about presentations made me anxious, and I was worried about how I would perform. As the semester went on, I started to realize that this course was not just about talking in front of others, but about learning how to communicate ideas more clearly and confidently over time. Seeing my classmates present helped me understand that I was not alone in feeling this way. Many people struggled at first, but with practice, everyone slowly improved. Watching the presentations throughout the semester helped me notice how much growth was ha...

My Personal Opinion in Our First Public Speaking Blog Presentation

Rosniel Gonzalez, Post No.1 When I started this course, I thought public speaking was mainly about standing in front of people and trying not forget what you memorized the night before . I didn't realize how layered, emotional, and honestly human this discipline really is. Watching my classmates present each chapter changed my perspective completely. What unfolded across these group presentations wasn't just theory, it was growth, vulnerability, preparation, and connection. Each group didn't simply talk about public speaking; they demonstrated it. What I appreciated the most is that every group respected their content and their audience. No one rushed. No one treated the material likes a checklist. Instead, they spoke with intention. And as a listener, I felt that intention deeply.  Group 1 opened the conversation in the most meaningful way possible, by grounding us in the evolving art of public speaking. What stood out of me immediately was how they framed public speaki...
