By: Sofia Sanchez For our class project, each group had to research a group of changemakers that had significantly impacted American democracy. The purpose of this assignment was to learn how various people throughout history have influenced the government of the United States and the freedoms that all American citizens enjoy today. By studying these historical figures, we were able to better understand how the actions and ideas of certain leaders helped shape the democratic system that still exists in the United States today. Our class divided the research into four different historical periods: the 1700s when the Constitution was written, the 1800s, the 1900s, and the time period from 2000 to the present. Each student was responsible for focusing on one of these time periods and learning about the important individuals who made a difference during that era.I chose to research the 1700s, which involved many of the leaders that helped shape the government of the United States duri...

For our class project each group had to study changemakers who made a big difference in American democracy. We wanted to see how people from times helped shape the government and the rights that people have today in the United States. Our class split the topics into four main time periods: the people who wrote the Constitution in the 1700s people from the 1800s leaders from the 1900s and changemakers from 2000 to now. My group was in charge of the time period, which was about the people who helped create the United States government back in the 1700s. I had to research James Madison and his part in shaping the government and the Constitution. Before I started this project I had heard of James Madison in history class. I did not really understand how important James Madison was in creating the government system that we still have today. Working on this project helped me see that James Madison played an important role when the United States w...

My Experience Learning About Changemakers in Our Class Presentations  By Yubisleidy Cordova During this project, our class had the opportunity to learn about important changemakers who helped shape American democracy. Each group focused on a different time, beginning with the authors of the Constitution in the 1700s and continuing through the 1800s, 1900s, and modern times. Listening to my classmates’ presentations helped me understand how many different people have contributed to improving our country and its democratic system. Instead of only reading about these figures in a textbook, hearing my classmates explain their research made the information feel more real and meaningful. This experience helped me see how democracy has developed over time and how many people have worked to create change. One of the most interesting parts of this project was listening to the presentations from the other groups. Each group focused on a different period of history and different change...

Perspective on Democracy and Leadership By Rosniel Gonzalez Perez I didn’t walk into that class expecting to feel anything special. Honestly, I thought it would just be another day of presentations where everyone reads from slides and we all politely clap at the end. But something different happened. As my classmates started presenting their topics about changemakers in American democracy, I realized that the room felt different. People were not just talking about history; they were telling stories about courage, struggle, and the voices that shaped the country we live in today. What surprised me the most was how those presentations made me reflect not only on the past, but also on the power of speaking in front of others. Sitting there and listening, I realized that this assignment was not just about democracy. It was also about learning how powerful a voice can be when someone truly believes in what they are saying. When the discussion began with the authors of the Constitution in t...

For our class project, each group was assigned to study different “changemakers” who made a major impact on American democracy. The goal of the project was to explore how individuals throughout different periods of history helped shape the country and its political system. The class divided the topics into four main time periods: the Constitution authors from the 1700s, important figures from the 1800s, influential leaders from the 1900s, and changemakers from 2000 to the present. My group was responsible for the first category, which focused on the constitutional authors who helped create the United States government during the late 1700s. Working on this project helped me better understand the early history of the United States and the people who were responsible for building the foundation of our democracy. Before doing the research, I had heard of many of these historical figures, but I didn’t fully understand what each of them contributed to the creation of the Constitution ...

Persuasive speaking

Image
Yordanis Sierra        In my point of view persuasive speaking is one of the most important and powerful skills that a person can develop , this kind of public speaking is very deep for humans interactions, psychology and connection,.If this speaking is done ethically it becomes the perfect tool for influencing and creating understanding, breaking the differences of other persons and motivating meaningful action . The interesting thing about this speaking is that is not just about giving an information but about sharing a point of view, giving a reasonable view of a topic and making the topic resonate with people values , emotions and experiences that they have lived .This means that a speaker have to do a loot more than just talking to persons but interreacting with they mind sets a, sharing emotions. A speaker have to  observe, empathize , and adapt, and thought this process the speaker can connect with the audience and not just talk or inform but in...

Presentation Reflection Blog by Sebastian Viter

Reflection of my group and other groups presentations The class presentations were divided into four groups, with each group responsible for presenting one major part of the textbook. This structure helped organize the presentations and made it easier to understand how public speaking skills develop step by step. Each group focused on a different stage of the public speaking process, from getting started, to developing and researching a speech, to delivering it effectively, and finally to special occasion and group presentations. Overall, the presentations helped connect the course topic and showed how all the concepts build on one another. My groups presentation covered Chapters 13-17 , with each group member responsible for presenting a different chapter. This approach helped keep the presentation organized and prevented information overload. It also showed how the different types of speeches discussed in the course connect to one another. Working with my group was honestly a blessin...
